This shall oblige us our heirs so to be held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penalty of Fifty pounds to the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind our selvs our heirs __ Jointly and severly fi__ly by this present ___ with our seal and dated this 22nd day of Jul. 1817 Rendered on condition that there shal be no lawful cause to obstruct the marriage of Mr. James Vandeventer and Miss Nancy Ingrum who are boath over the age of 21 years. Then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and Virtue. This indenture witnesseth that James Vandeventer of the county of Owen and State of Indiana Convey and warrants to John Vandeventer of the county and state aforeside for the sum of Thirty dollars paid to Susan Long, Eliabeth Light, and Ruth A. Mills each ten dollars and the futher consideration of a lifetime maintance by the said John Vandeventer in the same manner as heretofore paying all his expence in sickness or otherwise The following real estate viz: The Northwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of section sixteen township No. (8) eight North of Range (4) four West containing forty acres more or less.
