About James de Havilland
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Haviland-267
Several certified genealogists have pointed out that there is nothing in the surviving record that supports the theory that the James de Havilland of this profile ever existed. They maintain that there was only one James de Havilland (father of this profile, a son of Thomas, Sieur de Havilland and husband of Helena de Beauvoir), a merchant of Poole who was mayor four times there (1494, 1498, 1502 and 1506).

The de Havilland family is an Anglo-Norman family, belonging to landed gentry that originated from mainland Normandy and settled in Guernsey in the Middle Ages. A branch of the family resided for many years at Havilland Hall near Saint Peter Port in Guernsey.
