Jesse Bryant was born on October 20, 1736 in Snowfields, Bertie, North Carolina to William Bryant and Jean Andrews. His parents were NOT William Bryan and Elizabeth Smith.

He married Zipporah Cain on April 03, 1756 in Martin, NC.

Jesse Bryan named his wife Zipporah and named the following children in his will according to the abstract of North Carolina Wills (see link below, page 59).

1. Nathan Bryan (1757-1835)
2. Penelope "Penny" Bryan (1758-1816)
3. Pherebee/Pharibe Bryan (1769-1845)
4. Sarah Bryan (1769-1815)

Martin County 1774

Martin County was established in 1774 when annexed from Halifax and Tyrrell Counties.[1]
