OBITUARY
Joan Jaye Kerstein

EUNICE-Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 08, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice for Joan Jaye Kerstein, 66, who passed away on Monday, February 02, 2009 at her residence. A private burial will be held at the Lafayette Jewish Cemetery with Rabbi Barry Weinstein officiating.

Joan managed the Louis Wright's store for many years and in 1974 opened the Generation III store. She was instrumental in establishing the Eunice Players Theater 40 years ago and the Eunice Public Library. Joan was so much more than a business woman and volunteer, she was a voice of wisdom and inspiration to all that knew her. She was a friend to all and Eunice will not be the same without her.

A loving sister, aunt, and friend, Joan is survived by her brother, David A. Kerstein and wife, Geneva Mire of New Orleans; two nieces, Carolyn Kerstein of St. Paul, Minn and Elizabeth E. Kerstein Bolster and husband, Erik of Eagle, Co; a grand nephew, Drew David Bolster of Eagle, CO; three aunts, Sylvia Wright Stern, Beth Wright Rosenthal, and Lillian Wright Levin all of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Sophie Wright Kerstein, maternal grandparents Louis and Sadie Wright of Eunice and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Carrie Kerstein of New York City.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, February 08, 2009 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice from 10 a.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
