From the Settlers of Beekman Patent.
"Johan Michael Overocker signed a lease 3 June 1745 on a farm with first rents due 25 March 1751 at 16 bushels. He was taxed in Beekman from Feb 1744/45 through 1770 with assessments of 6 pounds in Feb 53, 5 pounds in June 58, 4 pounds in 1760, 6 pounds in June 63, 5 pounds in June 67 adn 70.
He was naturalized there in May 1755.
July 13, 1758 he was sponsor for Jacob and Catherine (Overacker) Stover's, son Martin.
He signed leases on farms June 1745, and May 1761.
Michael purchased property in the town of Schaghticoke about 1768 and moved there from Dutchess County.
The date of birth is an assumption based on the birth of his first child, provided this was the first marriage for him. The date of death is based on his will proven in May of 1792, the census of 1790 on which he was not listed, and a DAR Patriot index that listed a probable date of December 1787.
A book entitled Settlers Of The Beekman Patent, by Frank Doherty, states that Michael was on the Tax Rolls for the years 1744/45-Feb 1754 and June 1757-1770, which indicates that he was a property owner and over the age of 21 years.
Michael's first child, Martin, was baptized in 1744.
