1910: Meeter’s Kraut Factory was built in Union Grove, WI. G.R. “Bob” Cornell was plant manager. In addition to sauerkraut, pickles and tomatoes were processed at various times at the factory. Source: Village of Union Grove (WI) Now Stokely. Unable to confirm if this was a Jan Meeter business.
The Meeter's sauerkraut factory was once located on Wentworth Avenue (south of Ridge Rd.) next to the old Pennsylvania railroad tracks. The family home, at Ridge Rd and Lange still stands as of 2022. Source: Lansing (IL) Historical Society
