I am contacting you about this profile: Rebecca Perry

Hate to be the bearing of more bad news, however, there is several errors regarding Rebecca Pierce-Perry Parents and Grandparents and Great-Grandparents on the Geni Profile for Rebecca.

Rebecca’s parents are indeed William Pierce Ann Tunstall, however the wrong data connected to William and Ann and WHO their parents are! Similar to the WRONG parents like Richard Ankrum Perry. Not sure where this information is coming from. Mmmm.

I have a SOLID PAPER TRAIL regarding Rebecca’s parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. Starting off with the Consent of both parents on Rebecca Pierce Marriage Bond dated November 3, 1803 in Green Co., KY to Richard Ankrum Perry.

In addition, various land deeds of Wm and Ann Tunstall in Culpeper and Orange Co., VA selling their land in the late 1780’s. By 1790 they were in South Carolina near William Holbrook who also relocates to Green Co., KY by 1803.

I have several documents / history regarding the Pierce and Tunstall Families and that of William’s and Ann’s Grandparents and Great-Grandparents, etc. all documenting proved Family Trees (Deeds, Estate Wills) in Historical Books on various Counties in Virginia.

William’s parents were John Pierce, Gentl and Sarah Meirweather of Hanover Co., VA. Ann’s parents were John Tunstall and Sallie Temple of King Wm and King and Queen Co., VA.

I have been researching Rebecca’s parents and grandparents, etc. for years.

There is Numerous documents on the these very prominent Virginia families dating back to the mid 1600’s in Virginia and recorded in Historical County Books of VA. These Families (Tobacco Planters, County Clerks, Vestry Wardens, Military Captains, etc.) all lived close together and had additional land in various counties; particularly King and Queen and King William, Hanover, Louisa and Orange Counties. They are documented in Vestry Records of the Earliest Churches as well, such as St. Peter’s Parish in New Kent Co, VA.; David Crawford and John Pierce, Gentl.

In addition, Rebecca’s granddaughter, Mrs. Rachel Perry-Perry (b. 1836 - d.March 1937, daughter of Nathan Perry; b. 1811;KY) mentions her family in two separate articles in the Indianapolis newspapers, last being December 1936 when Rachel celebrates her 100 birthday, where she mentions her Grandmother is a Cousin of George Washington. It took me several years to find the connection, but yes its true....Cousin by Marriage through Sarah Meriweather and her parents; Wm Meriweather & Elizabeth Bushrod. Elizabeth Bushrod-Meriweather was the Aunt of Hannah Bushrod-Washington the wife of Col John Augustine Washington the Full Blooded Brother of President George Washington.

In addition, Rebecca is a to Cousin to Meriweather Lewis of the Lewis and Clark Explorers. William Meriweather is also the Great-Grandfather to M. Lewis.

Another interesting direct ancestor of Rebecca Pierce-Perry is Anthony Arnold of Nathaniel Bacon’s Rebellion. I have visited several locations where Rebecca’s ancestors placed their feet in old Virginia. The most thrilling was St. Peter’s Church in New Kent Co., King and ; Queen Courthouse and the location where Arnold was hung in March 7,1676 where he was condemned for rebellion and treason....for supporting the rebellion. Arnold boldly defended the right of the people to resist oppression...his speech is preserved...one of the 1st Patriots of American.

I am currently putting all my data / documents (and creating timelines) that I have gathered for the last 30 years on Ancestry. com and can provide you a connection to my site if you are interested.....I should be completed with this project by Mid / Late Summer.
