Note: The principal inhabitants of Bristol were Quakers. Among these, the names of Buckley, Williams, Large, Meritt, Hutchinson, and Church. In 1712 Saint James Church was erected by the Episcopalians, and in 1714 the Friends erected a meeting-house. These comprised, for a full century, the only houses of worship in the borough
He married Elizabeth ___________ by 1676 at Amesbury, Massachusetts. The family still resides in Amesbury, Massachusetts in 1680 according to census substitute records and in 1686 by the birth record of son Samuel.
It may be read that Joseph and his wife Elizabeth relocated to Bucks County from Long Island in 1690 settling near Falls township. However, there does not appear to be documentation of them living on Long Island.
