About Joseph Timothy
Joseph Timothy (1865 - 1928), son of John G. Griffiths Timothy and Martha Davis, was born 2 October 1865 at Heber City, Wasatch County, Utah Territory. He died at the age of 62 on 6 August 1929 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. He married Lucy Jane Thomas (1868 - 1959), daughter of Joseph Madison Thomas and Louisa Arelia Houghton, on 2 February 1887 at Vernal, Utah.

He moved to Vernal 1885 with his parents, where he assisted in building up the county. He served as a school trustee; was a constable for six years and deputy sheriff for four years; road supervisor 4 years. Delegate to eleventh National Irrigation Congress. Farmer and stockraiser.

Former Roosevelt Man Dies at Bingham.
Relatives of Joseph Timothy received word Monday afternoon of his death at the Salt Lake County Hospital, death having occurred at 7 a.m. Monday. Mr. Timothy was operated on about a week ago for stomach. The body was brought to Roosevelt Wednesday and funeral arrangements are being made for today at 4 p.m. Mr. Timothy was the son of John G. Timothy and is survived by his wife and nine children.
He was sheriff of Duchesne County for two terms before locating at Bingham Canyon, where he has been for the past six or seven years.
