John Campbell of Cawdor was born in 1695.1 He married Mary Pryse, daughter of Lewis Pryse, on 30 April 1726.1 He died on 6 September 1777.1

He was the son of Sir Alexander Campbell of Cawdor, younger and Elizabeth Lort.2 He held the office of Lord of the Treasury.1 He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty.
