Lloyd Earl Weaver

He was born in Lancaster County, a son of the late Hershey H. and Beatrice Fenderson Weaver.

Lloyd was the husband of the late Anna Ruth Wenger Weaver who died on February 15, 2007.

He was a member of The Worship Center, formerly attended Carpenters Community Church, was its first baptized member, and also attended the Millport Mennonite Church. At church he was a song leader, usher, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, and church trustee. Lloyd enjoyed working in his woodshop making projects. A member of the Maple Shade Hunting Camp, he enjoyed deer hunting, snowmobiling, family camping, photography, and traveling with friends to many places including the Canadian Rockies and the Holy Lands. He and his younger brother, Mervin, were best chums.

Mr. Weaver was first employed as a farm hand on a dairy farm, next did rough and finishing carpentry for 17 years, worked 3 years for Brubaker Kitchens in Lancaster, then worked as a home heating oil deliveryman for Paul Kurtz and Worley and Obetz until his retirement in April, 1998.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth J., husband of Doris L. (Charles) Weaver of Lititz, and Clair R., husband of the late Wanda (Baker) Weaver of Winchester, TN, a brother, Mervin H., husband of Leora Groff Weaver of Manheim, and a sister, Alma Sweigart of Myerstown, 5 grandsons, James, Stephen, Michael, David and Seth Weaver, 1 grandaughter, Erin Petersheim, and 2 greatgrandsons, Emmanuel and Ezekiel Petersheim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers, Elvin and Harold Weaver.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Millport Mennonite Church, 820 Log Cabin Road, Leola (Warwick Twp.) with Pastor Glenn Hoover and Pastor Ken Godshall officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
