Lucy Adams, dau. of Harmon Adams and Grace Millard, was born in Troy, NY on Jan. 9, 1819; married with CHARLES BROWNELL, son of Benjamin Brownell and Clarissa (Baldwin) Ritchie. They wed on Sept. 25, 1839 in Troy, NY. He was born Oct. 16, 1816. He was a carpenter and house builder. He died in Springfield, Missouri on Mar. 9, 1874; she died in St. Louis, Missouri on May 15, 1884. Children all born Troy, NY.

Children were:Francis Edwin (1840), Benjamin H. (1842), William A. (1844), Jane A. (1847), Frederick (1852), and James A. (1854).

  • 1850 census: Lucy Brownell (32, b NY) and husband Charles (34, b NY); in Troy, NY w ch. Francis E. (10), Benjamin H. (8), William A. (6), and Jane A. (3). He is a carpenter.
