About Lydia Rush

Jacob Rush served with Captain Benjamin Stiles Company. First Battalion Washington Co. Militia in the war of the Revolution. 1782 roster also includes brother in law James, Abel and Nathaniel Bell.

Jacob possible married twice.

It is believed his first wife was Elizabeth Leonard. They were possibly the parents of Elizabeth, Jesse, and Leonard Rush.

Jacob was secondly married to Lydia Bell (1748-1828) daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah Bell. Jacob named in his will Lydia and the following children: Moses, Isaac (1770-1827), Nathaniel (1786-1867), Mathias (1789-1863 married Sarah Iams), Mary (1796-1870 - David Hays), Jesse (d 1827), Leonard (b 1769, Jemima Hormell), James (1770-1842 - Priscilla Case), Jacob (1761-1842), Nancy, Elizabeth, Hannah. Jacob and Lydia were members of Goshen Baptist Church.

Lydia is the wife named in Jacob Rush's will. They are buried in Cox Cemetery on Castile Run. Tombstone for Jacob Rush, died October 5, 1820 at age 82. Lydia's tombstone died January 3 , 1828. at 80 years.
