Birth

1619 - 1620 .Early settlers of Essex and Old Norfolk, NEHGR vol 8, page 50

After arriving in New England, Margaret and John lived first in Newbury, Massachusetts, (where there son, John was recorded born 24 Jun 1641) and then in Andover, Massachusetts circa 1645.

In 1661, there was a troublesome servant, John, who worked for Mr. Bradstreet. It was ordered that John be arrested for stealing "pigges, capons, mault, bacon, butter, eggs &c & for breaking open a seller doore in the night." John, the thief, was in the habit of taking the food and then taking it into the woods, cooking it, and eating it. Apparently, at least once he took some to Goodman Russ' house and shared it with him. Goodwife Russ, on visiting with the Bradstreet's house heard that " the mayde had missed the things," and said Mrs Bradstreet would blame her and be very angry. Goodwife Russ brought the missing items back, and so informed her husband and John.

Children

Savage III:589 gave them the following additional sons: Jonathan, Thomas, Josiah & Joseph, all said to have been born after they moved to Andover. No record has been discovered for ANY of these children (and none of them are mentioned in their father's will). Savage certainly was in error in giving John & Margaret these sons.

Death

Margaret wife of John Russ died July 10, 1689, in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts, New England,[2] where she is probably buried.
