Getroud en Bly op Buhrmansvlei aan Vaalrivier.

Gedurende verblyf op winterplaas te Swaziland het sy dodelik siek geword en 'n Swazi-vrouedokter het haar met veldkruie genees. A.G.V. Hierdie siekbed kon sy nie 'n groot gesin he nie. Haar eggenoot en vyf broers was ook op komando gedurende oorlog. Na die oorlog het hulle hulle op Geluksplaas naby Bethal gevestig. Onder Engelse bewind is op hulle wintersplaas in Swaziland sonder vergoeding beslag gele. Haar man en seun moes op die spoorlyn na Bethal gaan werk. Later het die gesin na Barneveld in die destrik Carolina getrek. Na die afsterwe van haar man in 1928 en haar seun in 1933 het sy en haar skoodogter Lettie Fischer op Ermelo gaan woon. Sy was 'n ywerige lid van die Vrouefederasie. Na 'n kort siekbed is sy in haar 89ste jaar op 1956/05/18 op Ermelo oorlede en begrawe.
