Trial of Jean Campagna 1685
In 1685, Her husband gave testimony in the witchcraft trial of Jean Compagna, an inhabitant of Beaubassin, who was accused of casting spells upon the homes and cattle of Beaubassin. Compagna was also being held responsible for the death of Francois Pellerin in 1678. It was said that Compagna had asked for the hand of Roger Caissie's daughter and, having been refused, cast a spell which caused all of Caissie's cattle to become sick.
