Michel Poirier, son of Jehan, has sometimes been confused with Michel Poirier, a native of France. This second Michel was probally a cousin. About 1682, Michel settled in the new colony of Jacques Bourgeois; later called Beaubassin.

On ne sait pas avec exactitude s'il se marie vers 1670 à Beaubassin ou vers 1672 à Port-Royal. On semble surtout retenir la dernière hypothèse. Laboureur au recensement de 1671. Probablement décédé à Beaubassin, Acadie.
