Martel LeSueur, the son of David and Elizabeth Chastain LeSueur, was born March 6, 1758 in Manakintowne, Virginia and died August 10, 1843. At a special ceremony his stone was placed in the Prillaman-Turner Cemetery in Virginia. His wife, Elizabeth, and other family members are buried here.

On 10 June 1781 he married Elizabeth Bacon in Chesterfield County, Virginia. They had ten children:

Pvt. Martel LeSueur served as a soldier in several units during the Revolutionary War.

FROM PENSION APPLICATION W8035, MARTEL AND ELIZABETH BACON LESUEUR: APPEARING BEFORE A FRANKLIN CO VA JUSTICE OF THE PEACE ON 18 FEB 1833, MARTEL LESUEUR STATED HE WAS 71 YEARS OF AGE, BEING BORN IN THE YEAR 1761 AND HIS BIRTH IS REGISTERED IN THE CHURCH OF THE PARISH OF KING WILLIAM. HE FURTHER STATED THAT HE WAS BORN IN MANAKEN [SIC] BEING INITIALLY IN THE COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND, NOW IN THE COUNTY OF POWHATAN.

THIS DIFFERS FROM THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ELIZABETH BACON LESUEUR WHO GIVES HER HUSBAND'S DATE OF BIRTH AS 06 MAR 1756.

BOTH DATES DIFFER FROM THE TOMBSTONE WHICH HAS 6 MAR 1758 AS THE DATE OF BIRTH.
