- Edward Holyoke of Lynn was from Tamworth, Warwick Co., Eng., where he m. June 18, 1612, Prudence, dau. of Reb. John Stockton, rector of Kinkoff. His will made Dec. 25, 1658, gives "to my son Tuttle that (english pound)4 that should have been paid yearly to me, but of which I have never received a penny, for the house in Boston, my best doublett and breeches to son Tuttle." - Lewis' Annals of Lynn. Inv. (english pound)681; John Tuttle and John Doolittle, appraisers. The father of Edward H. of Lynn was Edward, and is thought to be the same Edward Hollyocke mentioned in the will of Shakspeare's wife (Anne Hathaway) father, where he is spoken of as having a claim of 20s. for wood - N. E. Gen. Reg. 1. Mary, m. John Tuttle. 2. Susanna, m. Michael Martin, Sept. 12, 1656. 3. Sarah, m. __ Andrews. 4. Eleazer, a prominent and useful man, for whom Mt. Mary Pynchon was born about 1622 in Essex, England. She married Elizur Holyoke on 20 November 1640, born in 1613 at Tamworth, Staffordshire, England, the son of Edward Holyoke and Prudence Stockton. She died October 20th or 26th, 1657, at Springfield, Hampden Co, Mass. He died at the same place on 9 Feb 1675/76.

Mary was the daughter of William Pynchon, founder of Springfield, and his wife Anna.
She married Elizur Holyoke in 1640 in Springfield. The couple had eight children: John in 1641 (died in infancy), John in 1642, Hannah in 1644, a stillborn daughter in 1646, Samuel in 1647, Edward in 1649, Elizur Jr. in 1651 and Mary in 1656.
