20. Nathan Ainsworth (Joanna Hemingway, Joshua Hemingway, Elizabeth Hewes, Mary Foote, Robert, Robert) was born on 20 Jul 1715 in Woodstock, Conn. He died on 24 Nov 1776 in Woodstock, Conn.

Nathan was a Tailor and was lame in one arm. Three of his four sons died in the Revolutionary War. Amasa was too young to serve. Resource : AFA.

Nathan married (1) Abigale Child daughter of John Child and Abigail Child on 11 Oct 1750 in Woodstock, Conn. Abigale was born on 1 Jan 1729. She died on 6 Dec 1794.

From two sources his death are recorded; One stating that he died in the army and the
other that he
was killed by Indians. Both were correct. Colonel Brown with a detachment from
Berkshire, marching
up the Mahawk to relieve the NY frontier, was seduced into an ambush and slain, with
forty-five
of his men, by a party of Indians and tories, who themselves were afterwards , and on
the same day,

defeated at Fox's Mills by Gen. Van Rensselear (see "Diary of the Revolution"). Luther
was one
of the three sons of Nathan to be killed. He enlisted in Wilbraham, Mass. Source:
