LIEUT. N. G. SHEPARD (DIED WOUNDS). Lieutenant Norbert Gerald Shepard, F.A., who died in France on August 2 of wounds received action July 30, was the third son of Major Thomas Shepard, Draft Conducting Officer, attached Lancaster Fusiliers, and Mrs. Shepard, late of Church Brampton. He was educated at Wellingborough School and Glasthule College, and joined the Honourable Artillery Company in 1912, receiving his commission in the Royal Field Artillery at the beginning of the war. He was promoted to lieutenant last January. Lieutenant Shepard, who was 23 years of age, was one of five brothers serving.
