About Owen Ruble
Owen Ruble (also spelled Rubel) was an officer (Captain) in the American Revolution. He took his oath on June 22, 1780. Owen seved with the Militia of Henry County, Virginia, and is said to have commanded a company of militia at the taking of Yorktown. DAR Ancestor #: A099444
Owen is credited with helping establish Henry and Patrick Counties, in the Colony of Virginia.
Owen's will was dated March 6, 1824, and was proved on December 6, 1824, in Franklin County, Virginia. Included were his wife, Alley, her daughter Polly W. Wade, and his own children, Jean (Jane) Ruble Jones, Dr. Thomas White Ruble, Elizabeth Ruble Hall, Swinfield Ruble, and Margaret Ruble Conner.
