About Persis Harrison
comments
From geni member Leif Trygve Lind March 2016:
Not to be confused with Persis Lobdell
Persis was indeed the name of Simon Lobdell's wife. However, there is serious research that shows her maiden name was not Pierce. In fact, her parentage is widely considered to be unknown.
See http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pierce-454. Persis was born about 1626. She was the daughter of Thomas Pierce and Elizabeth Carew.
Persis was born in England, probably about 1625, and came to Charlestown in 1634 with her family. "Peircis Bridges" was admitted to Charlestown church 30 November 1643 [ChChR 10].
Her identity as wife of William Bridge(s) "is deduced from the 1665 will of Thomas Pierce naming granddaughters Mary Bridge and Elizabeth Jefts [Tufts] living with them, and the Charlestown town record of 1646/7 calling William Bridges and Peter Tufts brothers.[MPR Case #17583; Charlestown Town Records, p 71]."[1]
After William Bridges's death, and no later than 6 May 1653, she had married, as his second wife, John Harrison of Boston, ropemaker, by whom she had ten more children [ChBOP 127].The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-33
She passed away about 1682.
Some sources identify her as Persis Lobdell, the wife of Simon Lobdell, but there is no authority for this identification [2]

In 1681 Simon purchased 60 acres (but was not a settler) at Stony River, between Springfield and Windsor, and had interests in Hull, Mass., in 1682. No. proof of his marriage nor birth of Mary, his first child, has been found, but I assume without proof that he married Persis Pierce, dau. of Thomas and Elizabeth Pierce of Charlestown, Mass., and that the families were members of the
same party on their way to the new home in New England.
Simon returned to Milford. Conn., where his wife Persis was admitted to the First Church of Milford, 7 January, 1677, and on 9 April, 1710, Simon united with the same church.
At Milford, his children married and there Simon died, previous to 4 Oct., 1717. as on that date, at Probate Court held at New Haven, Conn., his son Joshua Lobdell of Ridgefield. Conn., moved for administration on the estate of Simon Lobdell of Milford, lately deceased, which was .granted on his bond. The same administrator exhibited a jointure made between the deceased and the widow, of full satisfaction.
