Peter Helton b. d. before 20 Sept 1757 when the bond of Hannah Helton, Administratrix, of the estate of Peter Helton was dated. John Mc Gee and John Green were joint bondsmen. Orange Col, N.C. Ref. N. C Hist Commission, File 6S 8. "A just and true inventory of the Goods and Chattels of Peter Helton, Decd. Hannah, his wife is Adm'trix. John McKee witness. From N. C.Historical Commission, Orange County May court 1758. " Report of the Committee of Public Claims at Edenton held Monday 27 of Nov. Anno Dom. 1758. The estate of Peter Hilton (Helton) late of Orange Co. Deceased was allowed his claim of one pound sixteen schillings for provisions for the Indians by Aco- rendered. "Ref. N.C. Colonial Redords Vol. 5, Pg. 975-980, Orange Co., N. C. Orange county was formed from Granville and Bladen in 1755.
