About Prince William Augustus of the United Kingdom von Hannover, Prince, Duke of Cumberland

Died unmarried and without issues

Prince William, Duke of Cumberland (William Augustus;[1] 26 April 1721[2][N.S.] – 31 October 1765), also known as "Butcher" Cumberland, was a younger son of George II of Great Britain and Caroline of Ansbach. He is generally best remembered for his role in putting down the Jacobite Rising at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, though he went on to enjoy a successful military career. Following the Convention of Klosterzeven in 1757, he never held active military command, and switched his attentions to politics and horse-racing.

See the continuous presence of the Hanoverians 1727-1837, kings interrelated with PMs for the first century of the office's existence.
At least Buonaparte, original Corsican spelling includes the U, is balanced by Horatio Nelson b1758 and PM Arthur Wellesley b1769, but Wellington was not a man of the people, was the last PM to be a Duke and be against the nineteenth century great reforms of parliament.
It is right to refer to Britain for the Stuarts after the Union of Crowns. As they ruled with only intermittent parliaments, they were the real ruler so they had united both countries under 1 ruler. So Scotland fully ceased to be independent in 1603, but became it again for the period 1688-1707 when continuous parliaments began as a new standard following the Dutch invasion that ousted the Stuarts, and it had a parliamentary administration.
