son of Jonathan and Jershua (Barron) Emery; married Abigail Goodwin (born 1763 d. 1838) There is not record of this marriage as the town of Fairfield was not incoporated in 1788.
His intention of marriage is on record dated April 5, 1782; "David Emery and Abigail Goodwin both of Kennebeck River without the boundaries of any town, but in the county of Lincoln, intend marriage."
Enlisted Sept., 1775, under Capt. Scott in Arnold's expedition against Canada; went as far as Dead RIver, returned under Col. Enos and joined the army at Boston, served at the siege of Boston and vicinity til March, 1777, when he enlisted at WInslow, Me. (Kennebeck co.), for three years under Capt. Josiah Jenkins, Col. Sam. Brewer's Mass. Reg., Joined the army at Ticonderoga, N.Y.; served two years; transferred to Valley Forge, Penn., the command of Major Caleb Gibbs as one of Gen. Washington's Life Gaurds, discharged at Morristown, N.J., March, 1780;
died in Fairfield, Me., Nov. 18, 1830.
