Isaac Cliatt:

Isaac Cliatt was in the Land Lottery of 1827, Richmond County, Georgia page 347 of Georgia Roster of the Revolutionary War by Knight. Isaac served in Capt. Foster's Company during March 1793. Revolutionary War Pension Claim R 20341: The date and place of birth and death and age of Isaac and names of his parents were not given. Isaac Cliatt, while a resident of 119th District, Richmond County, Georgia, applied March 15. 1828 for pension on account of his service, and alleged that he enlisted, date and place not stated, to serve during the period of the Revolutionary War, and at the close thereof he was a Private in Captain McIntosh's Georgia Company. Further details of his service were not stated. It is also not stated in the claim whether the soldier ever married. (Huxford Gen. Society Quarterly Vol. VIII No 1 Page 46-47).

Isaac Cliatt and his family lived in Richmond, Columbia and Lincoln Counties in Georgia. Isaac owned 306 acres of land in four tracts in Richmond and Columbia Counties. He was in Columbia County in 1795 and Richmond County in 1825. Isaac sold land in 1795 in Columbia County, Georgia that was originially received as a grant to Peter Kinder in July of 1772. This is from "Authentic List of All Land Lottery Grants Made to Veterans of the Revolutionary War by the State of Georgia", an Isaac Cliatt, Sr. of Richmond County, Georgia received 117 acres in Muscogee County, Georgia. In Capt Foster's Company of militia, March 1793. Isaac enlisted Sept. 10, 1782 and appears on a payroll for the third Company of Georgia Battalion. Source: "Georgia Citizens and Soldiers of the American Revolution" Abilene Baptist Church (then in Richmond County but which later became Martinez, Columbia County, Georgia) began in Isaac Cliatt's mulberry orchard. Isaac died at the home place, known currently as the Tillery place in Lincolnton, Georgia. Lincoln County, State of Georgia Last Will and Testament of Isaac Clyatt (Cliatt)

In the name of God, Amen. I, Isaac Cliatt, of the said state and county aforesaid, being of infirm body but of sound and disposing mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and that all who live must die yet firmly trusting in a happy and glorious resurrection though our (two words) and whose (one word) presents I have endeavored to walk do now make this my last will and testament of such worldly estates as it hath pleased the Almight Providence to bestow on me. lst. - I desire all my just debts be paid and my body be decently entombed after the manner of a christian. 2nd. - I desire, give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Ann Cliatt all my estate both real and personal wheresoever the same may be to be and remain in her possession during her natural life but she is not to dispose of any portion thereof nor make waste thereof but is to enjoy the incomes and property thereof during the said balance of her natural life and after her death, said estate is to be disposed of and distributed in the following manner, to wit: 3rd. - Jehu Cliatt. I bequeath to his heirs one negro man, Nick and one negro woman named Jenny to be equally divided. 4th. - I give and bequeath to my son Isham Cliatt, one negro man, Albert and one negro woman named, Milly, one boy named Augustus. 5th. - I give and bequeath to my son Jippi (Jesse) Cliatt, one negro man named Allen and a woman named Mary and child and her increase and one negro man named Stephen. 6th. - I give and bequeath unto my grandsons Alexander Jones and Solomon Jones fifty dollars to each child at our death, 7th - I give and bequeath to Mary Cliatt and Marshall Cliatt my grandchildren five dollars to each child to be paid at my death. I give and bequeath to my son-in-law, Josiah Jones, one dollar.

This 24th day 1840 signed, sealed and delivered in our presence by the testator to be his last will and testament. Allen Curry and John W. Little JP I do hereby constitue and appoint my son James Cliatt my executor of this my last will and testament this 24th Novemeber 1840. Allen K Curry John H. Little JP

Isaac Cliatt's name is on a list of Revolutionary War Soldiers buried in Lincoln County, Georgia. According to Lena Cliatt who holds evidence of a pension file (File #S20341). She sent me a rudimentary map stating that the Cliatt Family Cemetery was located about 120 yards on the right side of the Lincoln County Hwy passed Cliatt's Store.
