Saadiah Isaiah initially was A.B.D. Leslau and later of Miedzyrzec Podlaski.

His last post was A.B.D. Holleschau, Moravia where he died 1726.

He wrote approbations to:

1. Berit Mateh Moshe by Isaiah Katz written in 1701, published Berlin 1701. 2. Yalkut Shimoni, written 1708. 3. Rosh Yosef by Joseph, son of Saul of Przemysl, written in 1709, published Berlin 1709. 4. Perach Levanon by Judah, son of Joseph Peretz, written in 1713 in Miedzyrzec Podlaski, published Berlin 1713. 5. Pnei Moshe by Moses, son of Isaiah Katz of Przemysl, written in 1716 at Miedzyrzec Podlaski, published Wilhermsdorf, 1716 6. Orach Mishor by Jonathan, son of Meir Kremnitzerm written in 1723, published Berlin 1723.

On his death (according to Nir LeDavid in Gedullat Shaul, R. Hillel, son of Samuel of Holleschau wrote a lamentation about him which remained in manuscript. In 1760, some thirty four years after his death, his nephew, Phineas Katzenellenbogen of Leipnik visited his grave and also obtained a copy of the lamentation from its composer.

Saadiah was married to Eidel, daughter of R. Naftali Katz A.B.D. Ostrog (see Katz Family Pedigree). Eidel died in Lissa.

In 1708 Saadiah and his father-in-law wrote a joint approbation to Yalkut Shimoni.

He was the progenitor of the Padua and the Rubinrot Families (see Chapter 11).

From Page 152 of Volume 1 of the Third Edition, he is also the progenitor of the Banet families.
