About Rabbi Dr. Joseph Renov
R. Joe Renov was the rabbi of the "K3" hechsher. Anyone with the same surname is probably "related", because his father coined (invented) the surname "Renov".
I am not sure. I am distantly related to a Renov. He stated that the Renov name had Sephardic origins. It was related to the Sephardic Carvajal family from Spain I am puzzled because the story was told to me by a member of the Renov family who wishes to keep his name private. I have not seen any confirmation of the story.
