About Richard Hankins, of New Sweden Colony
Note: there is a Richards Hankins of Virginia as well.
Note from 2002 My personal feeling is that the line starts with Richard Hankins in New Nertherlands 1658. His mirgarion to New Sweden which we call New Jersey started in the late 1600'ds to 1700'ds. Most of his children are unknown.
Most Hankins lines get to New Jersey in the 1700'ds and draw a blank. All mention a common oral lineage Scottish or Scot-Irish which I myself have found no supporting information. This information has been passed down over 250 years which would lead me to a common bond. So far my Hankins line is very English.
