Royal grant of Lancaster County that, on January 8, 1656, from King George II., "for divers good causes and considerations, but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of twenty-five shillings in good and lawful money paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia;" of two hundred and fifty acres, near Tuckahoe Swamp in St. Stephen's Parish, King and Queen, to Robert Pollard. This grant is signed by "A. Spotswood," the royal governor.

The book "Old New Kent County" by Malcolm H. Harris, page 435 states: On March 16, 1668 Robert Pollard was issued a patent to 85 acres of land adjoining Edward Simpson on Simpson's Creek. This was marsh land along Pepetico Creek and the creek separated Pollard land from Simpsons.
