Mr Salomon Yehiel Zalman Dembitzer (b. 1787, d. 1833) Salomon Yehiel Zalman Dembitzer (son of Hersh Salomon Dembitzer and Malke Liberlecz) was born 1787 in Krakow Poland, and died 1833 in Krakow Poland. He married Michel Lensler on 17 03 1805 in Krakow Poland, daughter of Moses Lensler.

His son, R. Hayyim Nathan ben Jekuthiel Zalman Dembitzer (1820–1892) was a talmudist and historian. He was born in Cracow and became a dayyan in his native city. Jekuthiel Solomon, a scholarly merchant who claimed he was a descendant of R. Moses Isserles, died in 1833, aged forty-one. In 1856 Dembitzer became a dayyan in his native city, and was, like his older brother Jacob, advanced to the position of rosh bet din, which he held till his death.

His SON, Chaim Nathan, chief historical work, "Kelilat Yofi," of which the first part, containing biographies of the rabbis of Lemberg and of other Polish communities, appeared in 1888, and the second part, also biographical and historical, in 1893 (Cracow), is an important contribution to the science of Judaism.
