Biography

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gunter-270

Samuel Gunter was born about 1796, the son of John Gunter a white man, and his Cherokee wife, Catherine . He married a Cherokee woman named Ah yu quu (Lucy) about 1810. They were the parents of one son, George Washington Gunter. [1] He had another wife named Jinny (or Jenny) but no other known children. [2] Samuel appears on the 1835 Cherokee Census with a family of three at Creek Path, now Alabama. His date of death is uncertain, but widow Lucy is listed on property claims and payments from 1837.

Sam Gunter, ... , died on Town Creek in Alabama about 1835. He left a son George Gunter, who became a captain in the Second Cherokee Mounted Guards during the Civil War.

Notes

Samuel Gunter had 3 wives, according to grandson John’s Miller app (# 901), including one named Jennie. He had only one child, by first wife Ququoh (Ah yu quoh). Was wife #2 Jennie Harrison? Who knows?

Doublehead had several wives, and Jennie Harrison often appears on the list. She had no children by either man, so there really is no way to know. So these are possibilities but not proven relationships.
