About Samuel Moulton, Vicar of Potton
Samuel Moulton, son of Robert Moulton of Scratby, Norfolk, husbandman, matriculated in 1613 at Cambridge University.On April 14 1614 he was admitted as a pensioner in Caius College at the age of 18. He continued as a scholar there fron 1615 to 1618. Samuel was ordained as a deacon at Peterborough 31 May 1618 and became Vicar of Potton, Bedfordshire, in 1620.
Origins
Robert Moulton & Mary Smith, had ten children, all born in Scratby, England: Samuel (1596), John (about 1599), Bridget (1601), James l(1603), Henry (about 1604), Thomas (1608), Mary (1608), Elizabeth (1610), Miriam (about 1614) and Ruth (about 1617). These were all mentioned in his will except Bridget who apparently had died before her father and Samuel who had been sent to Cambridge University and ordained as a deacon.
