Not the husband of Esther or Hester Sherman
Samuel Sherman of Dedham, county of Essex, clothier, made his will 14 June 1643, in which he bequeaths "to my loving sister Nash 20 shillings and to her son 20 schillings and to her daughter now in London, 20 schillings, all to be paid to my brother Nash.

Samuel Sherman was a son of Samuel Sherman and his wife Phillipp (Ward) Sherman of Dedham, Essex, England. Record of his baptism has not been found. His father's will, dated 20 January 1615/6, names sons Henry,Philip, and Samuel, all under 22 years old. Baptism records exist forfive other children of the family, and Michael Wood estimated Samuel's birthdate as "say 1607," fitting a gap between the recorded baptisms of two siblings. <ref>Wood, pages 47-48.
Sherman's 1870 article "The Sherman Family" stated a birthdate of October 20, 1601, Sherman, page 65 but this is the baptism date for Samuel's brother Henry.
Parents
Samuel Sherman 1573 – 1611 & Phillip Ward 1575 – Aft 1617
Spouse Esther Burges 1612 – 1646
He was married to Grace, whose maiden name is not known. They were married by about 1633, presumably in Dedham, Essex, England. The family emigrated to New England by 1636, when Samuel Sherman was recorded in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts, as the possessor of 100 acres of land. They moved to Boston, Massachusetts, by 31 December 1637, when son Philip was born in Boston. Samuel joined the church in Boston on 1 March 1639/40 and became a freeman of the Massachusetts Bay Colony on 13 May 1640. His wife (Grace) joined the Boston church on 29 August 1641.Wood, page 151.
Their four younger children were born in Boston and baptized in the first church there. Wood, page 152.nSamuel Sherman died in Boston by March 1644/5, when his estate was inventoried.<ref>Wood, page 151.
Children of Samuel Sherman and his wife Grace were: Wood, page 152.
Naomi Johnson was christened in Salem, MA on 1 Apr 1638. She married Samuel Sherman by 1658.
Naomi, wife of the 2nd Samuel Sherman (b. Abt 1635) was previously identified as the wife of the 1st in error.

This man died by March 1644/5, when his estate was inventoried. The Samuel Sherman who married Naomi Johnson was not him, but rather his son Samuel. The formatting of the 1870 NEHGR article is confusing, but if you read it carefully it becomes clear that the wife Naomi and the children Nathaniel, Samuel, and Samuel are connected with his son Samuel, not with this man.
