About Sarah Headly
Sarah's parents Thomas and Mary were settlers in the eastern part of Long Island which was under English rule, during the early period when western Long Island was under Dutch rule as part of New Netherland; Thomas had a land grant in Southampton (founded in 1640) on Long Island in 1659 and moved to E. Hampton 1663
There is no record of the birth of Sarah, child of Thomas, in the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records in Farmington. The records may not have existed then.
