4. Sergeant John' Parmelee (John,1 John1), was a farmer, lived in
Guilford, and married June 29, 1681, Mary, daughter of Nicholas
Mason; she died April 24, 1725. His list was £154 in 1716.

The children of John and Mary Parmelee were:
i. Mary,4 b. May 3,1682; d. Jan. 22, 1711; m. 1st, Jan. 22, 1702, Jonathan Hoyt, who d. June 1,1704; 2d, July 5, 1707, John French; he d. Dec. 17, 1745.
ii. Abigail, b. July 20, 1685; d. Oct. 20, 1776; m. Thomas Hodgkins Jr. of East Guilford, who d. April 18, 1754.
iii. Barbara, b. June 23, 1689; m. Robert Coe of Middletown, who d. «. 78, Feb. 4, 1762.

JOHN PARMALEE, b. in England, 1618; came from Surry, Eng.,
a first planter of Guilford, Conn., 1639. Was in New Haven 1659,
where he made his will; d. Nov. 8, 1659. To his only son John a
large part of his property was given, residuing to grandchildren
Nathaniel and Hannah, infants of John Johnson, after providing
for his own wife, who married secondly, John Evarts. He married
first in England, Hannah ; secondly, Elizabeth Bradley, in New England.

Child :

JOHN, b. in England; came with his father; was also one of the first planters
of Guilford, Conn.; m. first, Rebecca , who died 1651; m. secondly,

Anna, widow of Wm. Plaine; m. thirdly, Hannah Paine, Feb. 3, 1659. The
first wife had NATHANIEL; the second wife had no children; the third
wife had nine. Child:

Sergeant JOHN, b. Nov. 25, 1659; d. Mar. 21, 1725; m. June 29, 1681,
Mary Mason, dtr. of Nicholas Mason. She died Apr. 24, 1725. He
was a farmer and lived in Guilford. Child:

DEBORAH, b. 1699; m. John Wilcox of East Guilford, 1718. She
died June 11, 1799, aged 100 years. Child:
