About Shimon Uchitel
Ben Miriam and Dov. He was born in 1911 in the town of Zagorida in Sarabia to a family of agricultural workers. He attended elementary school in the town and his parents gave him Jewish and Hebrew education. He later joined the pioneering youth movement "Gordonia" and went to the "Masada" farm of the He - Chaluts movement. In 1931 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined the "Massada" group in the "Yossef Bussel" Givat, Hadera. He was a solid, broad-shouldered young man, worked in the building and the orchards and devotedly fulfilled every task assigned to him. In time he left the group, worked in drilling wells in the settlement and was a local Haganah operative. During the 1936-1939 riots he enlisted in the Nutras and served in responsible positions in dangerous positions. After completing the course, a group of 23 young men left for a sabotage operation at the refineries in Tripoli, Lebanon. The group departed for its destination on May 18, 1941 in the "Ari the Sea" boat, but the operation was not carried out and the fate of the boat and all its members is unknown to this day.
His name was immortalized in a memory booklet issued by the Hadera municipality "in every man" and in the book "Secret Shield".
