Biography

Thomas Bascom 3rd, the eldest son of Thomas Bascom Jr and Mary Newell, was born 20 Aug 1668 at Northhampton Mass,[1] and would inherit the family homestead at Northhampton. Abt 1690 he married Hannah Catlin, daughter of John Catlin of Deerfield. They had at least twelve children. [2] Thomas died 3 Feb 1714,[3] leaving his widow Hannah, one half of his house, land and “movables” so long as she remained a widow. To his eldest son Samuel he gave a wood lot on “Cobler’s Hill,” and the other half of the homestead – the whole to be his at his mother’s death. To his other sons he gave his “woodlands”, and to his daughters £12 each. [2] Sources
