4. THORNTON3 SEXTON (PRYOR2, JOSEPH?1) was born Abt. 1785 in Grayson. Co., Va., and died Abt. 1870 in Ashe Co. N.C.. He married EASTER WALLACE 1809, daughter of REUBEN WALLACE. She was born Abt. 1788.

Thornton was a Private in the war of 1812 under Capt. Timorthy Daltons Co., Va. Militia S.O. 21000 He applied for bounty lands. In the Ashe Co. N. C. census of 1870 he was a farmer of Helton Township. His real property value was $200.00 and personal property value was $300.00.
