"In a deposition dated 1668 Timothy Williamson, aged 47 or thereabouts , stated that he came to Marshfield about 26 years earlier with the Rev . Edward Bulkeley. In 1657 he was made a freeman of Marshfield, where h e had already been a surveyor of highways and a constable. He was licens ed to keep an ordinary in Marshfield in 1674, which his widow continued i n 1678. The will of Timothy Williamson Sr., 'being called to serve in th e warr against the enimie,' [King Philip's War] dated 20 June 1676, exhib ited 2 November 1676, left all his property at his [unnamed] wife's disp osal 'while she lives, and that it be by her equally divided amongst the m children att her decease,' except 40 acres to son Timothy. The invento ry was exhibited 4 November 1676 by Mary Williamson, widow."

"This writing Certifyeth To whom it may Concerne that I Timothy Williamso n, Senr being called by Gods Providence to serve in the warr against th e enimie; and that not knowing whether I may Returne againe declare tha t it is my will and Testament that my beloved wife Injoy whatever is mine ; both houses lands and Cattle att her proper dispose whiles shee lives a nd that it be by her equally devided amongst them Children at her decease ; onely the 40 acres of upland given mee by the Towne; on the North Syd e of the South River, I bequeath to my son Timothy; and also will that fo r a yeer or two if hee change his estate and be not better provided; he e hauve one of the Roomes of my house to live in, the whole propriety Rem aining his mothers for the bringing up of our Children. Witness my han d this twentyeth day of June 1676, The mark of Timothy Williamson In th e Presence of Samuell Arnold Nathaniel Thomas.
"Whereas there is some obsurety in teh expression of the Will and Testam ent above written, I clearly understood according to my best apprehension , That the said Timothy left his whole estate att eh despose of hsi wif e for the bringing up of his Children; onely the 40 acres expressed whic h hee Gave to his son Timothy Williamson willing that what Remaioned of t he estate att his wifes decease should bee equally distributed amongst th eire Children.
"These above written was the last Will and Testament of Timothy Williams on deceased, Exhibited to the Court held at Plymouth the second of Novem . 1676 on the oath of Mr Samuell Arnold.
"On the second of November 1676, Mr Samuell Arnold appeered before the C ourt; and did declare that which is next above written to be a Cleare exp laination fo the Will of Timothy Williamson, agove written;t his hee di d upon his oath taken as above Intimated; Attested p' me Nathaniell Morto n Secretary.
"Att eh Court of his Matie held Att Plymouth the first of March 1680. T he Court then Rendered the above written will Invalled and Nullifyed an d Declared tha ttimothy Williamson Died Intestate; yet Notwithstanding at t the Court of his Matie holden att Plymouth the 9th of July 1681 the Cou rt upon consideration of please on both sides viz, between Robert Stanfor d and hsi wife on the one pty and Samuell Sprague in the behalfe of the C hildren the other pte; did allow the said Will to be valled and soe far r approve thereof as to be the Testators mind taht ought to be followed. "

In a deposition dated 1668 Timothy Williamson, aged 47 or thereabouts, stated that he came to Marshfield about 26 years earlier with the Rev. Edward Bulkeley. In 1657 he was made a freeman of Marshfield, where he had already been a surveyor of highways and a constable. He was licensed to keep an ordinary in Marshfield in 1674, which his widow continued in 1678.
The will of Timothy Williamson Sr. "being called to serve in the warr against the enimie," dated 20 June 1676, exhibited 2 November 1676, left all his property at his wife's disposal "while she lives and that it be by her equally divided amongst them children att her decease," except 40 acres to son Timothy. The inventory was exhibited 4 November 1676 by Mary Williamson, widow. In March 1680, the will was declared invalid, but in the face of pleas made in July 1681 by Robert Stanford and his wife on the one part, and Samuel Sprague in behalf of the children on the other, its conditions were recognized. On 17 September 1690 Timothy's land was given in equal partnership to the now surviving sons, they to pay equally their seven [sic] sisters, daughters of Timothy.
