Vadim Takser Sergeevich was born in February 15, 1965 in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, to parents Sergey Andreevich Takser (1936-1995) and Yulia Dividovna Feygelman. His mother was a factory worker, and his father was a teacher. His older brother Andrey, served in the military, then went on to become a security personnel. His grandfather served in the military during World War II, while his family was evacuated to Ural.

On September 1, 1973, Vadim Takser started at School No. 19 on Pushkin Street, just a few blocks from his house. Ever since his early childhood he began to develop an interest in technology. When asked what he wanted to become when grew up, he said a computer games graphic designer. He became a member of pioneers in 1977. After his high school graduation he moved out of his hometown to Vilnius, Lithuania, where he studied in the University of Vilnius for a degree in electrical technology. He liked reading books like The Lady with the dog or A journey to Sakhalin by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. 

In 1983 along with his family, Vadim emigrated from Soviet Union. For 2 years they lived in Italy, then they moved to Brooklyn, New York where Vadim found a job as a limousine driver in order to pay for his courses at Brooklyn College to earn a degree in Computer Science. After graduation in 1989 Vadim was employed as a Database Analyst at Deloitte where his primary duties included database programming and query production.
In 1992, after working there for almost 3 years, he was hired by an accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Database Analyst. This position involved enterprise-wide solution design, implementation and integration, execution and management of operational and project integration activities required to enhancing and maintaining the functionality for various database technologies. In 2 years after that, in 1994, at the age of 29, Vadim Takser was married to Anna Feldman whom he met at his best friend's wedding. They bought a condo in Brooklyn, New York. His wife bore him two children named Aaron and Gabi. His wife Anna got a job as a librarian nearby. The kids attended public schools, and during summer, the family often vacationed in St. Petersburg, Florida, where Anna's parents lived as of recently after retiring from work. During his time in America, Vadim Takser had visited Ukraine twice since his family's departure in 1983. His visits lasted 3-4 days and included visiting his relatives, friends, classmates, as well as the house where he grew up with his family. Besides travel, his favorite hobby was playing guitar.
