Code Talker Victor Brown served in the 143rd Infantry. He was also an orphan. He attended Commercial College and Southeastern State College.
Daughter Napance Brown Coffman of Bartlesville, Oklahoma writes, He was wounded (as his citation from President Wilson states) - gassed(mustard gas), broken nose and head injuries. "I remember his stories of speaking in Choctaw over the telephone lines. He was pleased to have served in France and to have seen Paris. He was one-fourth French and Choctaw." "After the war he worked for the Choctaw nation, as well as auditor for IRS." "During World War II he was a Deputy State Examiner and inspector for the State of Oklahoma. He died July 22, 1966."
