Brother of Edward, Joseph, the late Charles, Kathleen Schneider and William. Uncle to many nieces and nephews, and his late nephew, William. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired after 41 years with the NYFD as a Lieutenant at Engine 290/103, E. New York. He was a devoted member, volunteer and daily communicant at St. Sylvester R.C. Church in Cypress Hills. He coached little league for the parish for over 25 years. He lived in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, NY, for his entire 84 years. He graduated from Blessed Sacrament Grammar School and Bishop Loughlin High School. Walter was a humble servant. "Well done good and faithful servant."
