Ambrose Bowden who had settled in Saco in the 1640's -- William the Mariner was a seaman, son of Capt. Henry Kerley and second wife Elizabeth Ward, widow of John Howe, II. William and Mary were married in 1703 at Boston by Cotton Mather. William the Mariner died at sea in 1739. Capt. Henry, b 1632 Ashmore, England, son of William the Immigrant, b. 1602 at Ashmore and Ann White Kerly, founder of Sudbury, Lancaster and Marlborough, MA, married Elizabeth White, daughter of Capt. John and Joanna West White at Sudbury in 1654. She was killed in the Massacre at Lancaster in 1676 along with son(s?) William and Joseph(?) and he remarried Elizabeth Ward Howe, daughter of Rev. William and Elizabeth Hall Ward.
