About William Fost
This is the profile of William Fost (spelled with an ST not a SS) of Dover some of John Fost of Dover and Mary Chadbourne. Do not confuse him with William Foss of Rye some of John Foss of Rye and Mary Berry. This william Fost of Dover married three times: 1) MARGERY LORD 2) SARAH (FERNSIDE) HEARD and 3) MARY (HORNE) HANSON. The other William Foss of Rye married once to Sara Buswell.
He died intestate in 1764, and administration of his estate was granted to his son or grandson, William Foss, on 29 Mar. 1764, with Dr. Moses Howe and Isaac Horne as sureties.[6]

A Benjamin Foss, baptized 30 July 1710, was the son of William Foss and Sarah (Buswell) Foss, and not part of this family.
