About Susannah Lee

4. Story, 1738, Hopewell Mtg, Frederick County, Virginia Colony. 1781 John and Abigail Pike left Pasquotank County in eastern North Carolina in 1738 to travel to Frederick County, Virginia, to assist with the Hopewell Meeting, where they remained for eleven years. It is possible that the Pikes heard about the new settlement on Cane Creek from families moving into the Hopewell area. Many of these families planned only to remain at Hopewell for a few years, then continue farther south.

5. Story, 1738, Hopewell Mtg, Frederick County, Virginia Colony. 408 The first book of minutes of Hopewell Monthly Meeting covering the activities of the meeting from 1735 to 1759 was burned in a fire at the house of the Clerk, so activities of John and Abigail Pike and their family during their time at Hopwell from 1738 to 1749 are not available. [Records of the births of several children in Frederick County, VA - including Susannah - do exist, however.] http://woodlin.net/lindley/1939.htm
