- Thurstan's son Guillaume Bertran was the founder of the Seigneurs de Bricquebec (Bertran), discussed in FMG.
- Thurstan's great granddaughter, Alice (Alix) de Montfort was the heiress and Dame de Montfort-sur-Risle. She married Gilbert van Gent and their son, Hugues IV succeeded his mother and was the first of the Seigneurs de Montfort-sur-Risle (Gand). The van Gent name has a number of variants, including Gand and Gaunt.
- Hugues IV had at least three children. Cawley and Burke's Peerages differ in the number and names of the children. According to Burke, Robert de Montfort, eldest son of Hugues IV, did not have offspring and was succeeded by his brother, Thurstan, who built a castle Beaudesert (Beldesert) in Warwickshire and that line is known as de Montfort of Beaudesert.
- Thurstan de Montfort of Beaudesert was succeeded by his son, Henry de Montfort.

Dugdale supposes Thurstan de Charlecote to have been a younger son of Thurstan de Montford, whose son and heir Henry granted to Walter the son of Thurstan of Charlecote the lordship of the village, which grant King Richard I. confirmed by letters natent at Dover 6th Dec., 1191, and John again confirmed with all the privileges therein noted in his fifth year. "From this Walter de Charlecote (who was a knight) by Cecily his wife, descended William, who assumed the surname of Lucy." This makes Dugdale think that his mother Cecily* must have been a "Lucy.""
Montfort-sur-Risle
- About Montfort-sur-Risle: In Gallic times the river Risle delimited the territories of the tribes of Veliocasses and the Lexovii. The House of Montfort-sur-Risle was a dynasty of the Anglo-Norman baronage, founded by Thurstin de Bastembourg, seigneur of Pont-Authou (-1027). His son Hugues II de Montfort participated in the Battle of Mortemer in 1054 and the Battle of Hastings. The Constable (Connétable) of Normandy, then of Normandy and England, and Châtelain of Dover, he received 114 manors in England and died in 1087. From Wikipedia article.
