This project is part of the overall "Biblical Tree" project.

It deals specifically with the wives of Noah and his three sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth who were aboard the Ark, during the Great Flood (See Genesis 6:9-22, 7, 8, and 9).

The Bible DOES NOT name these four women. As such many traditions and later sources have listed them and given some details about their own families. As can be expected, these sources contradict each other. The following entry on Wikipedia Wives aboard Noah's Ark gives a rather extensive list of about TWENTY of these sources. At the time this project was created the Geni Tree had 12 wives listed just for Noah. As such it was a complete mess. The Bible explicitly says that the four men each had one wife. So there were only 8 people on the Ark. (See Genesis 7:13).

This project was created in order to clean up the mess. So:

  • The tree will have ONE wife for each of these four men. Each of these eight profiles will have a link to this project. The tree will use the names taken from the earliest sources, Genesis Rabbah and the Book of Jubilees.
  • The project will include all of the additional profiles. Eventually it should include the wives from all of the sources listed in Wikipedia, and also list them on this page.
