Molesworth, originally derived from Mouldsworth, simply means good soil, and was a name originally taken or given to Waulter Lyndesye, in the company of Edward I around 1270. Apparently he was living in the area of the township of Molesworth, Huntingdonshire, which goes back on maps to around 1086.
